KERUGOYA

In year 2000, Bishop Francis Wanderi and his wife Mary formed The Peoples Church Ministries in Kerugoya.

This church was born on 3^rd September 2000 with only 250 (Children included) members. We got a worship place at a Cinema Hall. After one year, we enlarged the hall by knocking down one wall at the back. We kept on increasing in number and in 2002, we built two balconies.

In August 2002, we bought our Church van and got our first piece of land, half an acre (0.2 ha). This piece of land was dedicated to the Lord on 15^th February 2004, and on the same month, 20 friends, Operation Exodus Team (OPEX) from USA and 4 from England visited us. They helped us launch our Sanctuary construction work. The plot was acquired by giving a down payment of some money and the balance was to be cleared within three years.

On 4^th April 2005, the Sanctuary was dedicated unto the Lord by Bishop Tom Schwartz of Pine Groove Church USA. In August same year, we were declared DEBT FREE after clearing the outstanding balance with the help of The Point of Grace Ministries USA.

Towards the end of 2005 and early 2006, we relocated most of our church offices from the rented premise to the Sactuary's compound and we created spaces for more Sunday School classrooms.

The influence of The Peoples Church Kerugoya is being felt both locally and internationally. We have been networking with other ministries in Kenya, USA, UK, Tanzania and Uganda.
